Christmas Gift for Him 2026: Which Engraved Belt for a Husband, Dad or Brother?

Christmas Gift for Him 2026: Which Engraved Belt for a Husband, Dad or Brother?

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Short answer: for a husband, a black ratchet belt with a brushed silver buckle and his initials — it works with a suit and at the office. For a dad, brown with a gun-metal buckle: understated and easy with jeans and chinos. For a brother, black with gun metal or the more modern carbon-pattern buckle. Choose the length by his trouser size, and go longer if unsure — the strap is trimmed to fit.

Which belt for whom?

For Model Leather Engraving Why
Husband (office, suits) Brushed silver buckle Black His initials, or yours together (e.g. A&M) The most versatile and formal; matches a steel-bracelet watch
Dad (casual, weekends) Gun-metal buckle Brown His initials, or the children's (e.g. J&Z) A dark, matte buckle that doesn't shout; brown suits jeans and chinos
Brother or friend Gun metal on black or carbon-pattern buckle Black On gun metal: initials, a nickname or a number A more modern look for someone into tech and cars
Someone who wears both suits and jeans Two belts: black and brown Black + brown On one or both Covers every occasion; the second belt is 20% off automatically in the basket

How to find his size without asking

  1. His jeans label: the W size (e.g. W34) is the easiest clue. For Harrow belts: 90 cm (S) for a waist of approx. 75–85 cm, 100 cm (M) for 85–95 cm, 110 cm (L) for 95–105 cm, 120 cm (XL) for 105–115 cm.
  2. His current belt: lay it flat and measure from the fold at the buckle to the hole he uses. Pick a length that comfortably exceeds that figure.
  3. If in doubt: choose the longer size. He trims the strap himself in about 2 minutes — see how to cut a ratchet belt.

What to engrave

The buckle takes up to three characters. Popular choices are his initials, a couple's initials, the children's initials or the year of an important moment. Twelve ready-made ideas: engraved belt for him. Check the spelling before you order — we engrave exactly what you enter.

Delivery before Christmas

Orders placed before 13:00 CET on a working day leave our EU warehouse the same day. Delivery takes 1–2 working days in Poland, 2–4 in the rest of the EU and 3–5 in the UK. Carriers are at their busiest in December, so order with a few days to spare. The delivery cost for your country is shown at checkout before you pay.

Gift packaging

Every Harrow belt arrives in a rigid gift box with a magnetic closure, ready to give without extra wrapping.

What if the size or colour isn't right?

You have 60 days from delivery to return, and returns from Poland, the EU and the UK are free with a prepaid label. The belt must be unworn and untrimmed. An engraved belt or a strap cut to length is personalised and can't be returned for a change of mind — so he should try it on before trimming, and you should double-check the initials before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

What belt should I buy my husband for Christmas?

The safest choice is a black full-grain Italian leather belt, 3.5 cm wide, with a brushed silver buckle and his initials. It works with a suit, at the office and with dark jeans.

What belt is a good gift for a dad?

A brown ratchet belt with a gun-metal buckle: comfortable because it adjusts in steps of about 5 mm, and understated enough for jeans, chinos and brown shoes. The children's initials on the buckle make it a keepsake.

What if the belt is too long?

That's normal for a ratchet belt — it is trimmed once to the right length. Remove the buckle, cut the strap at the buckle end and refit the buckle.

Is there a discount for two belts?

Yes. Add any two Harrow belts to your basket and the second is 20% off automatically, no code needed — black for suits and brown for jeans is a popular pair.
